The JT series power cable reels are designed and manufactured using advanced foreign technology. They are mechanical devices that use a helical coil spring as the power source, leveraging the spring’s stored energy to automatically wind up cables. These reels feature simple power supply, safe and reliable operation, and moderate cable tension. They come in three structural types: slip-ring internal mounting, slip-ring external mounting, and cantilever type. Among these, the slip-ring internal mounting design is compact and aesthetically pleasing; the slip-ring external mounting design is easy to maintain; and the cantilever type is particularly suitable for winding longer and heavier cables. Key structural features include: 1. Utilizing a helical coil spring as the power source, which consumes no electrical energy and ensures reliable operation; 2. Employing a collector slip ring-carbon brush assembly to transmit electrical power, guaranteeing dependable performance; 3. Equipped with a reversible mechanism that prevents the reel from reversing direction and breaking the spring.
This product is used for winding and unwinding cables and optical fibers that transmit weak signals—both electrical and optical signals—such as the connecting cables for tension-compression sensors and optical fibers connected to cameras. As the inspection equipment moves, the reel can flexibly wind or unwind the cables or optical fibers along with the equipment, thereby preventing cable damage and ensuring the smooth progress of inspection work.
Torque Motor Type Power Cable Reel
This cable reel is primarily used in conjunction with steel mill flatcars or gantry cranes for mobile power supply. The output torque of the reel can be adjusted appropriately according to site requirements.
A hose reel is a device used to wind and store flexible hoses that convey media such as water, air, and oil. It can be mounted either on the ground or on machinery and equipment. Typically, a hose reel consists of several key components: a housing, a hollow main shaft, a rotary joint, and a drive mechanism. The rotary joint serves as the connection between the stationary pipeline and the moving hose. Based on their drive mechanisms, hose reels can be categorized into two types: spring-driven and torque-motor-driven. Spring-driven reels are primarily used for short-distance applications with small-diameter hoses conveying gas media, whereas torque-motor-driven reels—designed for longer distances—are more commonly employed in equipment requiring extended hose lengths. Rotary joints come in low-pressure, medium-pressure, and high-pressure versions, with maximum pressure ratings reaching up to 200 kg/cm².
The QC series magnetic-coupling cable reels connect to the cable reel via a magnetic coupler, enabling and ensuring smooth winding and unwinding of the cable. This product provides continuous and stable power supply with reliable synchronization performance that remains unaffected by changes in operating conditions. It can be widely used in coal-handling systems at thermal power plants and on large mobile equipment such as gantry cranes.
The heavy-weight cable reel is a traction cable system based on the principle of weighted machinery. It features a simple structure and easy maintenance, and is primarily used for suspending and winding cables on steel ladle cars in steel mills. After selecting the model, users must provide the cable specifications, length, and the installation height H from the ground to the pulley (typically, H ranges from 6 meters to over 6 meters).
Long-term locked-rotor torque motor-type cable reel
The JM□D series of long-term locked-rotor torque motors for cable reels are widely used in large-scale mechanical equipment requiring linear motion, such as bucket-wheel stacker-reclaimers, portal cranes, ship-loading machines, container cranes, and tower cranes. The power source and signal source are located at the midpoint or end of the travel range, and power and control signals are transmitted via the cable reel's cable winding and unwinding actions.
Hysteresis-type power cable reel
The hysteresis-type power cable reel consists of a three-phase induction motor, a single-phase bearing, a hysteresis coupling, a reduction gear unit, and a cable-reel drum. When the powered equipment moves away from the power source, an external force pulls the cable, overcoming the hysteresis torque of the hysteresis coupling. At this point, the hysteresis coupling generates slip (with the one-way bearing acting as a brake), thereby releasing the cable from the cable-reel drum. When the powered equipment returns to the power source and starts moving again, the induction motor drives the one-way bearing and the hysteresis coupling; the power is amplified by the reduction gear and then transmitted to the cable-reel drum, which winds up the cable.
